We are delighted to have been shortlisted for a Shropshire Business Award 2017. Hadley Park House Hotel is amongst four local Shropshire businesses up for the Tourism, Leisure & Hospitality Award.
Our hotel has demonstrated how we’ve made a positive contribution to Shropshire through enhanced visitor experience, job creation and how we have embraced technology.
Over the past twelve months Hadley Park House Hotel in Telford has invested in its product, personnel and technology to upgrade their offer to broaden the base of quality accommodation in Shropshire.
Our independent, family-owned hotel undertook an extensive refurbishment in 2016 and upgraded in an investment estimated at £100,000. All bedrooms within the original Georgian house were completely refurbished. The project focused on all 12 bedrooms in the original Georgian house which were completely redecorated and new carpets, lighting, hard and soft furnishings installed. The conservatory restaurant, adjacent bar, Morning Room and Lounge had a makeover with redecoration, new lighting and the extensive wood flooring taken back to reveal the original floorboards. New carpets were laid in the hotel’s entrance and reception area. The refurbishment and bedroom upgrade was designed to reposition the hotel to provide residents and non-residents the highest level of comfort and style and for the hotel to successfully obtain prestigious four-star status.
We showcased how the hotel has attained many accolades to position ourselves as a main player in the Shropshire tourism market. This includes 1 AA Rosette for food quality and using Shropshire- produced food and drink from a variety of speciality food producers.
The hotel has been recognised as the Best Town Wedding Venue in the West Midlands for the past three consecutive years. The award, bestowed by the Wedding Industry awards is based upon customer feedback. It is not purely on the number of weddings held each year but the comments received from those brides and grooms who married at the hotel in the past twelve months. We’ve also invested in our team and employees have swelled to 40. You’ll notice our additional front of house and operational team members who ensure everyone receives four-star customer service. We recognise that staff are the lynchpin to business success so an emphasis is placed on staff training and personal development to ensure a professional, consistent experience. We have embraced the apprenticeship programme and has enabled us to nurture young, local talent.
In the past year, Hadley Park House Hotel has demonstrated that despite increased competition, the hotel has strengthened market share and become a local hub for the wedding market and for afternoon teas.
