A Lion’s Love of Easter

Leona & I love Easter. Usually, it’s all daffodils, sunny days, birds nesting and a general spring-like feeling. This Easter might be a little different thanks to this inclement weather, but it’s a sign that Spring is on it’s way.

Here at the hotel, we’re getting ready for Easter Sunday Lunch. I love that Dorrells, our Telford restaurant is open over Easter (mainly because on Easter Sunday the hotel gives away Easter eggs with lunch and I’m hoping for a few leftovers)!

To me, Easter signifies the start of Spring, so I’m looking forward to seeing lots of new flavours and ingredients on the restaurant menu. Head Chef Mark is already beavering away working on new recipes and I for one can’t wait to welcome back those Spring flavours and seasonal ingredients such as watercress and Spring lamb and (as I start to lick my lips) around the corner there’ll soon be freshly picked asparagus. I’m not sure if he’s aware that I took this photo of him hard at work in the kitchen!

To be honest, thinking about food and those tasty ingredients is all that’s keeping me going during these cold days. People aren’t spending too much time out here with me on the doorstep, instead rushing past into the warmth of the hotel. Can’t say that I blame them.

I’ll keep you posted when the new menu is ready. Pop along to Hadley Park House Hotel & Dorrells Restaurant Telford for some lovely seasonal food. It will be great to see you, and remember to say hello on your way in!

All the best

Leo
