It’s a heck of a challenge

That Mark, he never stops. One would think that being the owner of the hotel, along with Geraldine, would occupy enough of his time, but he has decided to take up one heck of a challenge.

Earlier in the summer he confided in me that he had started a weight-loss programme and as part of this he had started to go swimming. He asked me if I’d like to join him, but to be honest, my lack of buoyancy frankly wouldn’t be a good idea – so I politely declined.

I’m now beginning to regret my decision. Mark’s at the pool everyday and is now swimming the equivalent of the River Severn – only 220 miles. We had a little chat and said that it would be great that he had an incentive, so he’s swimming in aid of the local Severn Hospice as well as the Anthony Nolan charity.

Leona, I, and all of the team cannot believe the transformation in him – a shadow of his former self.
